Walking Alongside You as You Pursue Healing, Growth, and Transformation
One of the most common questions I receive is, "What exactly is Christian Mental Health Coaching?" Christian Mental Health Coaching is a faith-based approach that helps individuals identify goals, navigate challenges, strengthen emotional well-being, develop practical strategies, and grow in their relationship with God. Unlike counseling, coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. Rather than diagnosing or treating mental health conditions, coaching helps individuals move forward by building awareness, identifying obstacles, developing healthier patterns, and taking intentional steps toward growth and transformation.
As a Certified Christian Mental Health Coach, my training was completed through Light University in partnership with the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC). My advanced training includes Christian Mental Health Coaching, Grief and Loss, Addiction and Recovery, Life Recovery, Human Flourishing, Military and First Responder Care, and Trauma-Informed Care. While education and credentials are important, my greatest qualification comes from walking through many of the same struggles faced by those I serve. My own journey has included profound grief, trauma, caregiving, addiction recovery, disability parenting, ministry leadership, loss of identity, and ultimately finding healing through a deeper relationship with God. Everything I offer is grounded in both professional training and lived experience.
Christian Mental Health Coaching provides encouragement, accountability, practical tools, biblical truth, and goal-oriented support for individuals seeking growth, healing, and personal development. Coaching may help individuals:
Coaching is not about telling people what to do. It is about helping individuals recognize where God may be leading them and supporting them as they move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Christian Mental Health Coaching is not professional counseling, psychotherapy, psychological treatment, or medical care. I am not a licensed mental health counselor, psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, or medical provider. I do not diagnose mental health disorders, provide psychotherapy, prescribe medication, or treat mental illness.
Individuals experiencing severe mental health concerns, suicidal thoughts, active addiction requiring clinical treatment, psychiatric conditions, or circumstances requiring medical intervention should seek care from appropriately licensed professionals. Coaching may complement professional counseling and medical treatment but is not intended to replace those services.
My approach begins with a simple truth: I am not the healer—God is. While education, coaching, practical tools, and supportive relationships all play important roles in personal growth, I believe true healing and lasting transformation come from God alone. My role is not to fix people, rescue people, or become the source of their healing. My role is to walk alongside individuals as they deepen their relationship with God, discover His truth, and partner with Him in the healing process.
For many years, I searched for answers through achievement, service, caregiving, advocacy, ministry, education, and personal effort. While each of those things had value, none of them could provide what only God could provide. Through my own healing journey, God revealed that true freedom begins when we stop striving and start surrendering. As a result, the foundation of my approach is built upon relationship with God rather than performance, behavior modification, or self-improvement alone.
Everything I do is rooted in biblical truth and the belief that every person is created in the image of God with inherent worth, dignity, purpose, and potential. I believe healing is not simply about reducing symptoms or managing circumstances. It is about restoring alignment between our identity, thoughts, emotions, relationships, and God's design for our lives.
Many people spend years defining themselves by wounds, diagnoses, failures, accomplishments, titles, relationships, or responsibilities. Scripture teaches that our identity is ultimately found in Christ. When we begin to understand who God is and who He says we are, transformation becomes possible. My goal is to help individuals move beyond labels and discover the freedom that comes from seeing themselves through God's eyes.
Healing is not about becoming someone new. It is about becoming who God created us to be from the very beginning.
Life leaves wounds on all of us. Some come through grief, trauma, rejection, addiction, betrayal, abuse, disappointment, caregiving fatigue, or seasons of prolonged suffering. These experiences often shape how we view ourselves, others, and sometimes even God.
As a trauma-informed coach, I recognize that many struggles are connected to experiences that have influenced beliefs, behaviors, and relationships. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or behaviors, I seek to understand the story behind them and invite God into the places that may still need healing.
Healing often begins when people feel safe enough to tell the truth about their story. My approach creates space for honesty, grace, compassion, and growth while helping individuals explore how past experiences may be influencing present challenges. Together, we seek God's perspective, His truth, and His healing in the midst of life's difficulties.
One of the most transformative practices in my own healing journey has been learning to slow down, quiet the noise, and intentionally listen for God's voice through Scripture, prayer, reflection, and spiritual disciplines. Many believers spend years talking to God but never learn how to create space to listen.
I believe the Holy Spirit is actively working in the lives of believers today. As we learn to create room for God, we often discover that He has been speaking all along. Listening prayer is not about chasing emotional experiences or seeking hidden revelations. It is about cultivating a deeper awareness of God's presence and creating space for Him to reveal truth, provide comfort, bring conviction, and guide the healing process.
My desire is to help individuals grow in confidence as they learn to hear God's voice through His Word, prayer, and the work of the Holy Spirit.
Faith is not simply something we believe. It is something we live. Alongside biblical encouragement and spiritual formation, I utilize practical coaching tools that help individuals identify limiting beliefs, establish healthy boundaries, improve communication, navigate grief and life transitions, strengthen relationships, clarify values, and develop intentional goals.
Lasting transformation occurs when truth moves from our heads into our hearts and begins shaping the way we think, respond, relate, and live. Growth happens when faith becomes something we practice daily rather than something we simply discuss.
The ultimate goal is not dependence on a coach. The goal is deeper dependence on God. My desire is that every person I serve grows in their ability to hear God's voice, understand His Word, embrace their God-given identity, and confidently pursue the purpose He has placed on their life. I want individuals and families to leave feeling equipped, empowered, and encouraged—not because they found all the answers, but because they learned where true answers are found.
I believe healing is possible. I believe freedom is possible. I believe restoration is possible. I believe purpose is possible. Not because of a program, a method, or a coach, but because God is still in the business of restoring hearts, renewing minds, healing wounds, and transforming lives.
My approach is simple: create a safe place for truth, healing, growth, and transformation while continually pointing people back to the One who makes all things new. Through Christ there is hope, healing, freedom, and purpose, and it is my privilege to walk alongside others as they discover that truth for themselves.
