If you have spent any amount of time caring for a child or loved one with a disability, you know how easy it is for caregiving to slowly become your entire world. Appointments, therapies, IEP meetings, medical decisions, advocacy, schedules, and the everyday responsibility of caring for someone you love can fill every corner of life.

Somewhere along the way, we can forget that before we were caregivers, advocates, educators, appointment keepers, problem solvers, and the people who somehow remember everything for everyone, we were sons and daughters of God.

I understand because I lived it.

For more than two decades, I poured myself into caring for children with disabilities as a mother, educator, advocate, ministry leader, and caregiver. Much of that was absolutely part of God's calling on my life, but eventually He showed me something I needed to see: I had become so focused on what I was doing for everyone else that I had lost sight of who I was in Him.

The Table was born from that realization.

This isn't another group centered around diagnoses, therapies, educational battles, or everything that needs to be fixed before next Tuesday. Those things are part of our lives and there is room to talk about them, but they aren't the center of this community.

Jesus is.

Psalm 139 reminds us that our children are fearfully and wonderfully made, fully known and deeply loved by God. But sometimes, as caregivers, we need to remember that Psalm 139 is about us too. We are also fully known. We are also deeply loved. And God never intended for us to disappear beneath the weight of caring for everyone else.

The Table is a place to come back to Him. A place to sit with people who understand the beautiful, exhausting, complicated reality of this life without needing an explanation. Together, we'll make room for honest conversation, Scripture, prayer, discipleship, encouragement, and the kind of community where nobody expects you to have everything figured out.

We'll explore identity in Christ, surrender, spiritual growth, rest, and what it looks like to care deeply for the people God has entrusted to us without allowing caregiving to become the whole of who we are. The disability journey may be what brings us to The Table, but it isn't what defines us.

Whether you're parenting a young child or an adult with disabilities, raising a grandchild, fostering or adopting, or caring for someone with unique abilities, there is a seat for you here.You don't need all the answers. You don't need to have your faith perfectly together. You can come tired. You can come overwhelmed. You can come needing someone else to understand without having to explain why you're exhausted.

Come sit. Come rest. Come be reminded that your identity isn't found in everything you carry, but in the One who carries you.
