the table: psalm 139 families

Monthly online community for parents of individuals with disabilities, centered on faith and support.

The Table: Psalm 139 Families-

A Monthly Online Discipleship & Support Community for Parents and Caregivers of Individuals with Disabilities and Unique Abilities - PROJECTED LAUNCH FALL 2026

"Come to Me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28

If you have spent any amount of time caring for a child or loved one with a disability, you know how easy it is to lose yourself.

What begins as love slowly becomes responsibility. The appointments, therapies, IEP meetings, medical decisions, advocacy, caregiving, and constant demands can consume every corner of life. Before we know it, we aren't simply caring for someone with a disability—we've allowed caregiving to become our identity.

I understand because I lived it.

For more than two decades, I poured myself into caring for children with disabilities as a mother, educator, advocate, ministry leader, and caregiver. I convinced myself that serving others was my purpose. While God absolutely used that calling, He eventually revealed something I didn't want to see: I had become so focused on what I was doing for others that I had lost sight of who I was in Him.

The Table was born from that revelation.

This is not another support group focused on diagnoses, therapies, educational battles, medical challenges, or navigating the disability journey. While those experiences are often part of our stories, they are not the center of this community. The center is Jesus.

The Table exists to help parents and caregivers return to the One who called them in the first place. It is a place to step away from the constant pressure of caregiving and sit with other believers who understand the journey. It is a place to exchange our heavy yoke for Christ's yoke and find rest for our souls.

Together, we pursue a deeper relationship with God, a clearer understanding of our identity in Christ, and the freedom that comes when we stop carrying burdens we were never meant to carry alone.

Why Psalm 139?

Psalm 139 reminds us that every person is intentionally created by God. "For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." — Psalm 139:13-14

This truth applies not only to the children entrusted to our care but also to us. Our children are not mistakes. Their diagnoses are not surprises to God. The children entrusted to our care were known, loved, and intentionally created by Him long before they took their first breath. And our role as parents and caregivers was not given to us by accident.

At the same time, God never intended for us to lose ourselves in the process of caring for others. We cannot pour from an empty cup. We cannot give away what we ourselves have not received. The Table exists to help caregivers return to the Source.

Our Focus

While our shared experiences often include caregiving, advocacy, therapies, educational decisions, and medical journeys, our true focus is much deeper.

Together, we pursue:

  • Identity in Christ
  • Relationship with God
  • Spiritual growth and discipleship
  • Vertical alignment with God
  • Exchanging our yoke for His
  • Finding rest for our souls
  • Learning to steward our calling without making it our identity
  • Living as sons and daughters of God first and caregivers second

We believe that when our vertical relationship with God is healthy, every horizontal relationship and responsibility benefits. We become healthier parents, spouses, caregivers, advocates, friends, and ministry leaders because our foundation is rooted in Christ rather than in striving.

What You Can Expect

The Table: Psalm 139 Families will meet monthly via Zoom, creating a consistent space for parents and caregivers to gather, grow, and encourage one another from wherever they are.

Each month, participants will engage in a discipleship curriculum developed by Limitless Ability Healing Collective that is intentionally designed to address the unique challenges faced by parents and caregivers of individuals with disabilities and unique abilities.

While the disability journey may bring us to the table, our focus is not on the circumstances we face but on the God who walks with us through them. Together, we will explore biblical truth, identity in Christ, spiritual growth, surrender, rest, and what it means to live from a place of vertical alignment with God so that every horizontal relationship and responsibility flows from that foundation.

Through Scripture, prayer, discussion, reflection, and authentic community, we will learn how to exchange our heavy yoke for Christ's yoke and trust Him with the burdens we were never meant to carry alone. Rather than allowing caregiving to become our identity, we will continually return to the truth that we are sons and daughters of God first.

For families in Northeast Florida, we also plan to offer periodic in-person gatherings and family events throughout the year. These opportunities will provide space to deepen relationships, encourage one another, and build authentic Christian community among families walking similar journeys.

Who Is This Community For?

The Table welcomes:

  • Parents of children with disabilities
  • Parents of adult children with disabilities
  • Foster and adoptive parents
  • Grandparents raising children with disabilities
  • Caregivers of individuals with unique abilities
  • Family members seeking encouragement, discipleship, and Christian community

You do not need to have everything figured out. You do not need to have all the answers. You simply need a desire to grow in your relationship with God and connect with others who understand the unique calling of caring for a Psalm 139 child.

Our Heart

The goal of The Table is not simply to create a support group. The goal is to cultivate a community of believers who are learning to live from their identity in Christ rather than their responsibilities as caregivers.

We believe God never intended for us to carry the weight of this calling on our own shoulders. Jesus invites us to exchange our heavy yoke for His, to find rest for our souls, and to trust Him with the outcomes we cannot control.

As we strengthen our vertical relationship with God, every horizontal relationship benefits. We become healthier spouses, parents, caregivers, advocates, and friends not because we are trying harder, but because we are abiding more deeply.

My prayer is that every person who joins us leaves feeling encouraged, refreshed, equipped, and reminded that the same God who entrusted them with their Psalm 139 child will also provide the strength, wisdom, grace, and rest needed to walk faithfully in that calling.

There is a seat for you at The Table.

Come sit, rest, and be reminded that your identity is not found in what you carry, but in the One who carries you.
