Parents are their child's first teacher, lifelong advocate, and greatest source of support. No one knows, loves, or understands a child the way a parent does. Yet many families find themselves navigating educational systems, diagnoses, therapies, accommodations, evaluations, and important decisions without feeling adequately prepared or supported.
For many years, I sat at educational tables as both a parent and professional advocate. Through prayer and reflection, God revealed that my calling was not to continue carrying the responsibility of advocating for every family, but rather to equip parents to become their child's most informed, confident, and effective advocate.
Our children are gifts entrusted to us by the Lord. While educators, therapists, specialists, and service providers play important roles, parents remain the most influential voice in their child's life. My goal is to provide the knowledge, tools, and encouragement families need to move from confusion and overwhelm to confidence and understanding.
Advocacy begins long before an IEP meeting. Many parents feel intimidated by educational systems, unsure of their rights, or overwhelmed by the language, processes, and decisions surrounding their child's education. Parent empowerment training focuses on helping families understand how to effectively communicate, collaborate, ask meaningful questions, and advocate confidently for their child's needs.
Rather than creating dependence on an advocate, my goal is to help parents develop the knowledge and confidence to advocate effectively on their own behalf and on behalf of their child.
Special education can feel like learning an entirely new language. Evaluations, eligibility categories, accommodations, modifications, goals, services, progress monitoring, and educational planning can quickly become overwhelming.
Through workshops and consultations, parents gain a practical understanding of special education processes, educational planning, and how to navigate decisions with confidence and clarity. The goal is to replace fear and uncertainty with understanding and informed decision-making.
Every child is unique, and there is rarely a one-size-fits-all solution. Educational consulting provides individualized guidance for families seeking support with educational planning, learning differences, disability-related concerns, school placement decisions, educational options, long-term planning, and problem-solving specific challenges.
Together, we explore options, identify priorities, and develop practical next steps that align with the needs of the child and family.
Families choose homeschooling for many different reasons, and the journey often comes with both excitement and uncertainty. Whether you are considering homeschooling, just getting started, or seeking guidance for an established program, coaching provides practical support as you build confidence in your role as your child's educator.
Support may include curriculum planning, organization, scheduling, educational goal setting, accommodations, learning strategies, and creating a homeschool environment that meets the unique needs of your child and family.
Many families are unaware of the resources available to support their child and family. Navigating scholarships, disability services, educational programs, community resources, support organizations, and ministry opportunities can feel overwhelming.
Consultations can help families better understand available resources, identify opportunities that align with their needs, and connect with services that may support their educational and personal goals.
Parenting children with unique needs often requires knowledge, resilience, flexibility, and support. Workshops provide practical education, encouragement, and opportunities for connection with other parents walking similar journeys.
Topics may include advocacy, special education, homeschooling, executive functioning, emotional regulation, disability support, parenting strategies, transitions, and helping children develop independence and self-confidence.
One of the most significant shifts in my own journey has been recognizing that true empowerment occurs when parents understand how to advocate for themselves and their children. While there will always be situations where families seek guidance and support, my desire is not to become the voice at every table. My desire is to help parents discover that they already have a voice and equip them with the confidence, knowledge, and tools needed to use it effectively.
When parents understand the system, know their rights, communicate clearly, and remain focused on their child's needs, they become powerful advocates capable of creating meaningful and lasting change.
Everything offered through Parent Training and Educational Consulting is rooted in the belief that every child has value, every family deserves support, and every parent can grow in confidence as they learn to navigate the educational journey.
My role is not to replace parents. My role is to equip them. My goal is not dependency, but empowerment. Through practical training, educational guidance, and encouragement, I help families move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and hope as they advocate for the children God has entrusted to their care.
